Seriously, every time I go and start watching a show on YouTube SOMEONE is complaining about the advertisements! And you know what? I want to ATOMIC BITCH-SLAP you people!
The Shows section on YouTube is pretty much their answer to Hulu. You know, that site that lets you watch old and new TV shows for free? Legally? Do you happen to remember what the trade-off is for that?
Oh, yeah! ADVERTISEMENTS.
YouTube and Hulu offer full TV show episodes, hell, whole SEASONS for FREE, and you ungrateful little shits want to whine about no more than a minute's worth of commercials at where a commercial would typically appear in a program? Oh my GOD, how do you people think they make the money to keep this stuff up?! All user-uploaded content on YouTube is still free of commercials. Feel free to go watch your pirated uploads that will be removed within days. You may get some pop-up banner ads, but you know what? They're all just an X away from being closed. I'm sure you wish you could do that with the commercials, but those people are PAYING YouTube and Hulu to get your attention.
What would you do? Continuously attempt to support yourself solely through banner and text link ads (Something that I'm trying to do here to no avail, mind you) or allow some companies to come in and PAY YOU for a thirty seconds of your viewer's time?
There was a series of ads a while back for something called Comedy Fetish. I HATED these ads with a passion, and they were PLASTERED all over ScrewAttack. They annoyed me, I talked to my partners in crime here on Now Loading and they were annoyed by them as well. Did we go on an internet-wide bitching campaign? NO. We sucked it up and kept watching what we loved.
